Grill Kits

All of our speaker kits can be fitted with an optional grill kit if desired. We don't ordinarily recommend grills be fitted to the speakers as it is generally acknowledged that grills detract from sound quality of a speaker. We recognise, however, that many customers prefer to fit a grill when not using their kits to appease their partners or to deter children from poking in the cones of their speakers! To facilitate this, all of our DIY grill kits feature quick detachable clips enabling the grill to be removed and replaced easily.

Each grill kit is supplied as a short form DIY kit to allow you to choose their shape. The kits ship with 4 matching pairs of grill clips, pre-cut black acoustically transparent speaker cloth and instructions for mounting them to a frame of your own manufacture.

Frames are easily made from a piece of 6-25mm MDF using some simple tools. The benefit of making the subframes yourself, apart from the satisfaction and cost savings of course, are that you can tailor the shape and location of the grills for that exotic look. Adding a grill kit requires the drilling of four holes in the front panel of the completed speaker kit.
